The hardest part of this project was covering up that huge hole and making it look real. I think I did a pretty swell job overall.

Surrealist Project

This is my surrealist project. The picture used is an abandoned hospital hallway that gives an eerie feel right off the bat. I put a scary face in the back of the guy thats barely noticeable, which also gives out a creepy feel. The object of this assignment was to make a surrealist design. I made it my own by using a unique color selection and I like the face on the guys back a lot. I started out this project with the picture of the hallway, which is pretty excellent. Then I knew I wanted to have someone walking in the picture and have a hidden face somewhere. Having the face on the guys back was the perfect solution.

Designer Poster

Jonas Bevacqua is the main designer for the clothing company, LRG. He uses many earthy colors and designs in the companies products. My poster in almost completely composed of the companies emblems. I used a design Jonas created in the background that has many vibrant colors and has a lot of black that creates contrast with the other objects on the poster making them pop out more.

This package design appeals to me because its economical because its refillable and its very innovative. This design is strong because the design is quite attractive and it appeals to this generation that is always looking for a way to save the environment.

Kick Butts

My Quote Design

My quote design uses a quote from one of my favorite athletes, Michael Jordan. It uses the quote, "The game is my wife. It demands loyalty and responsibility, and it gives me back fulfillment and peace." I use text over two of the pictures to create a cool effect. I also use a gradient in the background to make the pictures pop out. Overall, its a pretty solid design.

I like this designer because she incorporates many geometric designs in all of her designs that show depth and contrast. Most of the websites designs are mostly dark with highlights, which has a cool effect for the viewer. He designs for many brands and covers for bands new albums and his work is very entertaining to view.

Emotion Designs

The design for angry shows the emotion through rigid text that is dense and has various colors that can be associated with the emotion of anger. The design for lazy shows the word lazy leaning back and going into the distance, just kickin' back and keepin' it real. The there are several variations of lazy where it seems as though the person writing it is being lazy and just giving up on writing all of it out. I also used several cool and calm colors that can be associated with the feeling of laziness. This design effectively uses gradients to show depth.

Logo Design

My first logo uses my name and shows that I like to listen to music. The headphones surround my name, using negative space to make it seem as though my name is my head and I'm listening to music.
My second design is for my clothing brand titled, "LAS Deciples Inc." My clothing brand would be based in Las Angeles. I used negative space in the background to show a silhouette of a group of gangsters, which creates a sense of depth.
The hardest part was coming up with my two ideas, but once I got my vision, the designs came together very smoothly.

Line Design

This is my line design. I used many shapes the go from big to small to should depth. I also used negative space to better the balance of the design. The object of this assignment is to make a design of just lines and shapes, with no fills or gradients. At first i just used simple shapes that get smaller and denser as they go towards a certain point. I used many simple shapes with brush strokes. It is original because everything fades to a certain point and it gives a certain effect.
